The colonial experience in Kenya has been documented in many places, but most often it is about the colonial administrators and politicians, rarely has this documentation been about ordinary people and the dilemmas they faced. This book is mainly about one family and their experiences of the war of independence. It portrays individual and family dilemmas, thus giving the war concrete faces. The overriding theme throughout the book is the love and mercy of God as it works out in the lives of people. Every reader will find something to think about whether familiar with the situation or not.
